Fabian is a graduate in Project Planning and Management from the Institute of Community Development, Arusha, Tanzania. He also holds an MA in Environmental Sociology from Saint Augustine University of Tanzania and an MA in International Development (Glocal) from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Prior to co-founding Kaima Tanzania, Fabian worked for nearly a decade with different international community development organizations, initially as a program facilitator with Plan International Tanzania and finally as a project manager with HELVETAS Swiss Intercoperation, Tanzania.
Irenaeus holds an MA in Mass Communication from Saint Augustine University of Tanzania. He is highly experienced in teaching, resource mobilization and fundraising. Prior to helping establish Kaima Tanzania, Irenaeus lectured at St. Augustine University. His experience also extends to public relations, which is crucial for unifying young people and their communities around the vision and mission of Kaima Tanzania.
Sophia has a law degree from Tumaini University of Tanzania. Most of her experience is rooted in community development programming. Prior to law school, she worked with Plan International Tanzania in promoting children’s rights. In that position she helped bring about social change by working directly with indigenous people in rural areas with limited access to social services such as education, health and security.
Alphonce is a graduate of Philosophy with Education from Saint Augustine University of Tanzania. He is an experienced leader having served as a teachers’ resource center coordinator for 15 years. In 2007 he was appointed as project advisor of MMISO-Community Baseline Organization (CBO) under the management of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). Alphonce also works as a journalist and is experienced in the fields of training, project implementation and rural development.
Ashankira is a graduate of Community Development from CDTI-Tengeru Arusha. Her current role in Kaima Tanzania is an Administration Manager. Prior to Kaima, she worked with Marie Stopes Tanzania as a program coordinator for youth sexual reproductive health in Arusha.
Steven is a graduate from the Sokoine University of Agriculture in food science. He also works with the government at the office of agriculture as a food safety officer. He has been a member of Kaima Tanzania supporting the program as a part time worker in the position of the Program Manager.
Emmanuel holds an MA in Sociology from Saint Augustine University of Tanzania with a specialty in rural sociology. One of his ambitions is to teach rural development by mobilizing youth through agriculture. He believes that involving young people in agriculture will provide critical skills and experience that would lead to self-empowerment and self-employment. Emanuel has also worked with street children and orphans focusing on how to foster their potential for future success.
Maselle has been working at the Kaima Village site in Irunda since the property was acquired to develop the farm and youth vocational training in agriculture. He was raised in the local community and has lifelong agriculture experience. He also has experience caring for animals, including goats, laying hens, and cows. Maselle enjoys music and recording in the Kaima studio.
